Asia Sales Manager (Marine Chemicals)

Our client is a leading global supplier of high-quality, IMO- and tank-coating-manufacturer-approved marine chemicals, equipment, and consultancy services is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to drive business development across Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a well-established organisation with a global presence and a strong focus on clean and compliant shipping solutions.
About the Role:
This is a high-impact position suited for an experienced maritime sales professional with a strong network in Asia’s major shipping markets. You'll be responsible for expanding the customer base, strengthening regional partnerships, and growing the business in marine services, retrofitting, and green technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic sales plans across target territories
Build and manage relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators, and shipyards
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, especially in green marine solutions
Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform sales strategies
Work closely with technical and operations teams to deliver tailored customer solutions
Represent the company at regional maritime events and client meetings
Provide regular updates on sales performance, KPIs, and forecasts
Requirements:
3–5+ years of experience in sales or business development within the shipping or maritime industry
Proven success in account management and closing deals
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is essential
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, or Business
Strong knowledge of regional markets (e.g., China, Japan, Korea)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Willingness to travel regularly across Asia (approx 40% of the time)
Additional language skills in Japanese or Korean, and understanding of IMO regulations, are a plus
Open to Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents only
