Responsibilities
About the Team:
As a member of the company’s tax function, you will be part of an international team that spans the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. You will have the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders within our organisation, such as the Accounting, Finance, and Legal teams.
As a Country Tax Business Partner, you will be a valued member of the Country Tax Team based in Singapore, mainly looking after the company’s tax obligations in the region (with a focus on Singapore and Malaysia). You will manage your own portfolio of companies/business lines and your main responsibilities include:
Tax compliance: Preparation of direct and indirect filings, tax audits and litigation with support from external tax consultants where relevant.
Business partnering: Act as a partner to the business, providing specialist tax input from technical and operational perspectives in relation to proposed business launches/transactions/models.
Tax planning/optimisation: Regularly review the tax attributes of your portfolio, initiating projects that improve the tax position of your entities, such as leading tax incentive applications where relevant.
Process efficiency and automation: Support process improvement projects, improving efficiency with coordination with other stakeholders and supporting tax technology implementations.
Legislative tracking and solutioning: Monitor tax legislation changes and assess the implications to the Group and ultimately implement solutions to manage those changes if applicable.
Supporting statutory audits and finalization of financial statements.
Support HQ tax reporting requirements.
Provide tax support on various projects as well as leading ad-hoc tax matters/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or above with extensive years of related tax experience in large Multinational Corporations and/or accounting firms.
Meticulous with a strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering high quality work.
Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
A good team player, coupled with effective oral and written communication skills, able to clearly communicate tax technical issues to non-tax professionals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Internet/Technology/Telecommunications/Media industry is preferred.
Experience in a regional tax role a plus.
Experience in using ERP systems to gather/analyse data a plus.
