VSAT Engineer

Our client is in the marine satellite communications business and looking for a VSAT Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling, installing and troubleshooting of marine VSAT systems.

• Pre-commissioning building and testing in the workshop environment.

• Configuring, installing and troubleshooting of remote subscriber equipment.

• Providing technical support to customers / providing remote customer support as needed.

• Preparing and dispatching equipment and hardware to sites prior to installation.

• Completing all plans, diagrams and procedures related to installations.

• Additional training will be provided.

• Reports directly to the Engineering Manager

• Traveling – 20-30% (APAC)

Skills / Qualifications required:

• Degree/Diploma in IT, Telecommunications, Communications

• At least 2+ years of relevant work experience, ideally within an onshore / offshore remote communications environment.

• Satellite communications, VSAT, antenna RF systems / sub-systems and fixed antenna systems.

• Familiar with RF Spectrum Analyzers and RF theory is preferred.

• Training in IP routing, switching, security and VOIP is preferred.

• Prefer Chinese speaking due to customer base
