💼 The Honest Recruiter: 1 year reflection

It’s been about a year since I stepped into recruitment. Still very new and short of experience, and still figuring things out. During this period, I reached out to a few to seek partnership/collab, but none accepted, for certain reasons. Recruitment is pretty cut throat and it could turn ugly (many I know faced betrayals/back stabbing). It was only until recently that I found one who is willing to take this chance.
Up till now, it’s been a good kind of different. We work differently and we notice different things, but somehow it's working out. I know not all recruiters like to collaborate, but I’ve always believed that everyone brings something unique to the table.
While chatting about a role that we're working on, he sent me this message:
“You’re better than a lot of seasoned recruiters I know.”
It stopped me for a second. Getting recognition from clients or superior is one thing, but getting recognition from a business partner (or if you might say a competitor prior to our collab) who is way more experienced than me, that's different.
One year in, still learning, still growing, and more convinced than ever that the right partnerships make the journey a lot more meaningful.
